Background InformationCarlo started iKiteboarding.com (formerly known as kitesurf.co.za) in November 2000 - at about the same time that he started kitesurfing. At the time he couldn’t find any kiteboarding websites with good content - the only ones available were product websites and a few forums. As a photographer, writer, artist and computer programmer - it seemed only natural to combine all his talents and create a website about kiteboarding. To him the website is a publishing platform for a combination of his creative skills. He does not hesitate to voice his sometimes controversial but strong viewpoints, and this in itself has had a major role in the success of iKiteboarding.comHe prides himself in the fact that the whole website was designed and programmed by him from scratch. The majority of content on the site was written by him, and in later years he has published articles and content from readers. The result : iKiteboarding.com - today, one of the biggest kiteboarding websites in the world. He currently resides in Bo-kaap, Cape Town and works as a fashion photographer. Upcoming projects involve breaking into Dubai, California and Miami’s lucrative lifestyle markets.Equipment :I use the following equipment : Hardware & Software : Mac : iMac Alumunium 20” Core 2 Duo with 2 Gig Ram (Mac OSX Leopard) Photoshop CS3 Adobe Lightroom iMovie PC : LG Core 2 Duo 15 inch laptop Windows Vista Visual Studio Professional 2008 Photoshop CS3 PC Adobe Premiere Mac Cameras : Canon EOS 5D & EOS 1Ds Canon EF 24mm f2.8 Canon EF 50mm f1.4 and f1.8 Canon EF 85mm f1.2L and f1.8 Canon EF 400mm f4L D/O + 1.4x tele converter Storage : Sandisk 8gb and 4gb Cards WD Mybook 1 Terrabyte Firewire external harddrive
