The Unhooked Backloop Kiteloop is a relatively easy trick to do. The key is commitment. The harder you pull the quicker the kite will come around and the softer your landing will be, the less hard you pull the slower the kite will loop and the harder your landing will be.

The unhooked backloop kiteloop is pretty much the same as the hooked in kiteloop. Being unhooked allows you to straighten your body more and really allows you to feel the power of the kite. It also allows you to let go of the kite instantly at any stage of the maneuver.

1 - 2. Unhook. Edge slightly upwind. Place both your hands on the back side of the bar. Crank it, the harder the better.

3. Now pop a backloop. But don't throw yourself into a backloop, just throw your shoulder slightly backwards. The power of the kite will take care of the rest.

4. By now you should feel the power of the kite. The kite will pull you into a semi railey position. Bring your body around and look straight at the kite while cranking the bar. By looking at the kite you will travel towards the kite, and ease off the power. Just go with it.

5. Pull your legs in.

6. Start straightening out, and keep on looking towards the kite which should be straight downwind. By now the kite should almost be above you. The higher it is at this stage the softer your landing will be.

7. Spot your landing.
