Ruben Lenten training in South Africa

Ruben Lenten has been training in South Africa for the last week where he will be until just after Christmas. When he first got here he didn't really like it because of the strong and gusty conditions that are often present, but the last two days he has been ripping it apart and is starting to really enjoy South Africa.

Today we had light onshore conditions and it was overcast which isn't ideal for pictures. Ruben hooked up with iKiteboarding.com for the afternoon. It was really something to watch. The whole beach came to a standstill when Ruben started throwing his moves.

Ruben won the last few competitions on the PKRA tour. With an overall standing of number 2 he has a pretty good chance of becoming the PKRA world champ next year.

I saw Ruben kiting langebaan a few days ago, and all i have to say is that he is pushing it to the absolute limits! WOW!!!!!!

All I can say is that he does that everytime I see him :) He is really something else, the way he always seems to go for the limit.

Ruben's handlepasses are amazing - was watching him during that session and couldnt believe how quickly he passes the bar - half the time i only realized he had performed a handlepass because he pulled the leash back over!

ruben has been doing his thing at Big Bay, but you know wot the great thing about the sport is - u can watch him for 10 mins and then share the same stretch of water as the world #2 - and he still lands other kites. the kid has got talent & its great to see how far i have to travel.

Hi i come from South Africa and stayed in Barbados for 3 years. i am now in London. i lived in (Christ Church near miami beach). loved it there wish i could go back.
