Sodwana Bay flat water session

Bruce Chrystal from Ocean2Air kitesurfing sent us these pictures of Travis Holstein freestyling on lake Sibaya in Sodwana Bay.

Sodwana Bay is situated about 4 hours from Durban and is yet another kiteboarding hotspot in South Africa. Sodwana Bay offers both flat water riding and decent wave riding.

The water temperature in Sodwana Bay is comfortable year round with summer temperatures at about 24 degrees celcius and winter temperatures never dropping below 19 degrees.

Nice one Monkey. Sooo good to see Hatteras firing like that. Makes me want to pack it all in and pull in again. This is a far cry from your impromptue meeting with the cows a few years back. Looks like your getting less bumps and bruises, Hope Ponta is treating you well and well I might just pull in there with Eb,s and we'll have a full troop of monkeys in a new location,

hey bruce,

nice looking place... but why is travis so low on all the photo's?
are the boards too heavy or the kites not creating enough lift?
or was it bad timing with the photographer?

hey bruce,

nice looking spot, but why is travis so low on all the photo's?
light wind or heavy board or kite not giving enough lift?

Sodwana is an awesome location. I was there 1 week in Oct and only had 1 day with 20+ knots. I think the North easter usually is stronger there, right?
What's the windiest month to kite there?
