Video review : Elevation

Elevation. The movie (By Brad Symington)
Elevation lets you see what happened along the South African coast this past season.
It sets you into the mind of a typical South African kiter. From Cape Town all the way up to (Banana Land) Durban and then on to Ponta Da Oura, Mozambique.

What I liked the most is that it is not only the big pro’s doing their stuff but lots of footage for the rest of the crew who wait for the wind.
Most videos nowadays have footage of the best guys doing the best things. This video shows what every kiter goes through in the session as well as that. Travelling to tropical places having a great time with the mates or running across the road to the local break.
Also covered is what you don’t see at the contests, behind the scenes action that is sure to bring a tear to the eye. You will know what I’m talking about when you see it for sure.
Spowy (Gavin Spoward from Cyclone kiteboarding) getting Barrel’s at Umhlanga and Twiggy charging 10ft close out waves are some of the rare gems of film.
Some history of what started all the madness with classic original footage of the SA pioneers of this sport and where it all started.
It also has the wipe out section, which is funny as could be, and we can all relate to.
The overall package of this video is world class with a funky sound track and editing that is brilliantly synchronized with the flow of the kiting.
Colin has done a great job on his previous productions but I think he has definitely outdone himself on this one.
Finally a South African production that is a world-class package that leaves you stoked and amped for the next session.
The DVD and video will be launched on the 31st and a preview can be seen at www.ocean2air.co.za
