drive south the BR 101 highway 70 km (25 miles aprox) to Garopaba ( it is really good signed) and from Garopaba you are done!, 5 min from there it is the point! just ask for "Praia da Ibiraquera"
from "Florianoplis" take a bus (there are in really good conditions, really cheap and secure) to garopaba, or rent a car. Either one it a good option.
Ibiraquera Point, has all the facilities you could need. you can rent a house or a studio just infront the point, and rig your kite in the garden and go sailing, showers, baths, security, baywacth rescue team in case of any accident-
the jet-set of Brasil spend there vacations in this area (we are talking about people that have more money you can ever dream of),
This is a very secure place, you have incredible restaurants like "Aguas da Ibiraquera", "Tigre Asiatico", "Sushi Bar", and keep on counting. This places for people with dolars or euros are really cheap.
You also have other places even more cheap and with good quality food"! just like "Tartaruga", "Margarita Grill", "Margarita Pizza". And a lot of Surf Bar's with incredible drinks (spectacular fruits!! here in Brazil).
The night life here is great, Brazilians know how to party"!! hot babes, with mini bikinis, and a lot of places to hang out like "Jamaica Bar", "Pico da Tribu", and a lot more. There are a lot of Bands that play music here, from reggae, rock, brasilian music, bozanova, to world class Dj's (tecno, dance, trance, ect)

I always sailed with a kite rhino 4 10mtr and some days with my rhino 4 14mtrs.
You have 150mtrs to freestyle and then pure wave sailing. you also have a laggon that its perfect for freestyle, you can be sailing at the sea, and then pass to the laggon, cause its conected just like a rivermouth
I went in july and in january. in july I sailed 26 days out of 31!!! and in janaury I sailed 14 days out of 22
the locals and the forescasts, says that the best time to go is from September to November. wind guarantee!"
waves: perfect from 3 feet to 14 feet!! ( 1mtr to 4mtrs) but you will usually sail with 6 feet waves (2mtrs). the first 150/200mtrs are really flat perfect for freestyle specially betwen the sea and the laggon.

right there in the town!!!! you can rent equipment or buy the last models kites. just ask in ibiraquera it's 2 blocks away from the spot.
always be respectfull with the locals, this is not cabarette that is ultracrowed!!, so chill out!
Always negotiate the price of everything(it is in there culture to negotiate the prices)
just go and experience from yourself, you will not have any problem, people are great, the police is very helpful if you need any info, and is one of the bests spots I kite!!!!
and I went to cabarete, suthafrica, mauritius, cape verde, hawaii and west Oz!!! so I know what im talking about!, If you have family bring them, that is a great place for family ... also they will find a lot of activities to do (surfing or kite lessons, horse ridding, ect..)
long white sandy beach perfect to launch and landing your kite, if you are staying in a studio near the sea, you can rig in the garden really confortable.
