Icarai
Icarai Lagoon
Fortaleza Airport is some 25 kms far, from the airport look for BR116 and head direction Cumbuco, Icarai is some 13 kms before Cumbuco.
Taxi should be some 35 - 40 reais (10-14 euros)
Icarai Kiter´s Lagoon
Swiss style chalet with 8 rooms, swimming pool, private parking, telephone and internet, great viwe over the lagoon and beach, very well ventilated and the best, right in front of the lagoon, some 20 mts.
Right in Icarai village, some restaurants at the beach and in town too, supermarkets, post and other services.
Peaceful place during week, more busy at weekends.
Fortaleza is near enough (15 min by car) to have the wild party any night of the week.
It is mostly a kiters lodge, there are garden, swimming pool. The beach and the lagoon are seldom busy during week, so it´s kind of Robinson Crusoe feeling.
Accommodation 25 euros per night per person, 30 euros per double occupancy, including a generous breakfast.
Foos at the beach bars and restaurants can be around 6 to 10 euros per meal.
Travel from Europe is around 700 euros flight price.
Windy season June to Jan average 22 kts.
Rain season (rain in that part of Brazil is never sure) Starts in Feb and until April. it can rain at night or sometimes early on the day and then...wind comes again.
Average wind for the windy season 12-16 kts.
October and November, it was windy every day and night without stop, average 20-25 kts, always the same direction.
At the lagoon flat of course, in winter is more sweet than salty, during summer, the opposite.
At the beach, in low tide it´s fine and some breaking waves, when tide is getting in gets choppier and the waves can be strong.
Temperature around 27 celsius.
Some 3 or 4 hundred metres downwind the conditions get smoother.
No obstacles.
Just at the lagoon in the downwind part, on an area equivalent to one eighth of its lenght there´s a bar, during week almost always empty, at weekends there are locals bathing and partying.

Just be kind (and careful) at weekends if riding the lagoon.
Very chill place. Friendly people kiting by day, some of them dissapearing in Fortaleza night clubs, others just relaxing and sky watching.
Ah! due to the proximity of the lagoon there´s not need to spend money on a rented car, while if lodging in Cumbuco, any lagoon is wether left or right direction some 13 kms.
The beach is in high tide some 20-30 mts broad, in low tide some 40 mts. Long, it´s endless! No people on sight except on weekends, some occasional swimmer.
At the lagoon, samt things, only the bar downwind at weekends can be something to care as some locals swimm in front of.
