Get a map when you get here at the air port. Leave Winnipeg north on Highway 59, you will see signs for Grand Beach, Victoria Beach, and some other areas. The roads are very well marked and its is about 55 minutes outside the city.

Any type of vehicle will work. The roads are paved al the way but some roads to the sites are gravel. If you need a ride to any of the locations, call or email SURGE kiteboarding Canada for a ride.

There are cabins for rent and bed and breakfast hotels. Prices range from $30 to $100 per night.

The Grand Sands Hotel has pub food and the West Beaches Restaurant has more prepared meals. Both are good, just depends what you liketo eat.

In the Summer their is a great beach, camping, water slides and a provincial park. Grand Beach has dunes 12 metres high and kilometres of inviting warm sand beach receive the gentle waves of the great prairie sea. This is Grand Beach, located on Lake Winnipeg - the sixth largest lake in Canada. The beach, considered one of the best in North America, beckons the sun worshipper in all of us.

$50 to $100 per day depending on the time of the year. Summer time in grand beach can lure fifteen to twenty thousand people on a weekend which can increase your spending.

Summer and winter both have pretty consitent winds from 15km per hour to over 50km. North and South winds are great on the lake.

Summer time is great for kitesurfing.The lake can get waves up to 3 feet on really windy days.

For the more extreme, the winds on the lake can get up to 50KM per hour in the winter and lake crossings can be fun.

The off season is in the spring and fall when the ice isn't frozen and and ther is no snow but the water is cold.

Water is warm in the summer months but early and late in the summer a wet suit is recomeneded.

If the beach is packed stay away from it, the beach is over 6 km long so their is lots of area to launch
