catch the bus from athens to the port of Pireus and them a ferry to the island of PAros (ferry ride 4 hrs)
Easiest is to stay in the village of Parikia and store your kit at the kitesurf school .Hire a scooter (R40 per day) to get you around the island and to the kite beach
Plenty of places to stay in Parika (from R180 a night) for a room with tv aircon fridge 2 plate stove and balcony
to many to mention , eating out is a long process to be enjoyed and not rushed .Not that expensive main meal R 40 -R 60 .Lots to see around the island .PErfect weather from June to October .Long days lots of sunshine and wind . PEak season is August - prices go up
BEach activates , shopping ,relaxing etc .Very very safe , kids love it
eat breakfast on your balcony , lunch have a giro Pita (R 15) Dinner - R 50 - R 60 wityhout drinks .Bus trips are about R 20 for a 1 hour trip .Bike hire R 40 for the day .Accomodation R 150 upwards .R320 for 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms shower etc slightly further out of town
Wind from the ne fills in nearly every day from around 11am till about 8pm .Generallt starts at around 12kn and finishes at 25kn .Common kites are 12 and 9
I was there in Late june early July ,This is probably the best it gets even windier in August but even more crowded .Season is from early June to October .Airflights from jhb drop just after school holidays so if no kids this would be good - R3500 jhb- ath
around 22 degrees water fairly flat but chop builds as wind increases in the late afternoon
Lots of friendly locals , owner of the kiteschool and shop will introduce himself to you .Cant miss him long dreadlocks and loves SA .
Kiteshop is right at the beach for anything you have left behind or need to hire .Another kiteschool was opening a little way down the beach .The owners name was Pedro
Long flattish beach with sand , water shallow for quiet a long way out .Lots of place to rig and plenty people around to catch kites .Good instructers and school with good kiteshop and pub
