10 minute boat ride from Caticlan
least expensive is to take ferry from Cebu to Iloilo then Ceres bus to Caticlan. Only costs about US$21.00 From Manila you can take ship to Kalibo then bus to Caticlan.
If you are looking to go the least expensive route as I did then just go there and look for a place to stay. You dont have to pay more than about $12.00 per night. I stayed at the Rainbow connection for $9.00 per night.
Just hang out on bulabog beach and you will figure it out.
Anything you could imagine
I did it for about $20 per day for me and my family of three.
I never saw the wind go below 20kts in my 2 month stay. You will get plenty of use out of your 7 or 8 meter.
Best time for kiteboarding is December thru March.
Water is warm
The bottom inside the reef is pretty uniform in depth but there are pieces of coral here and there. Urchins are a plenty so booties are a must if your going to be standing up in the water.
On a nice day there were at least 100 other kiteboarders out there. It wasnt crowded though.
There are about a dozen shops and schools on Bulabog beach
The locals want you to have your iSLA card to ride there. Shop around for kite storage rates. If you can get $10.00 a week thats good.
The Philippine waters carry around a significant amout of trash. Any inside waters beach with an onshore wind will have trash on it. The kiteboard schools and shops will clean their section of beach daily.
low tide was the best time to rig and launch. Not to good at high tide. The water got choppy when the water got deeper.
