I stayed on the western side of the town right on the beach in a guest house, self catering but very comfortable with all facilities
this town is very quiet and cozy, and has many tiny restaurants with a friendly welcome feeling when you visit them. The basics are here, but dont expect a major shopping centre. typical small town lifestyle.

South Easter 10-15 knots average is onshore in summer (september - march), and the westerly is cross shore in winter
they have wind year round, and this is a good alternative during winter months, as their winter rainfall is much lower than the rest of the western cape.

most of the locals would love to kite, and those who do kite will catch up with any new faces who start to rig up on the beach
this town is extremely safe, as crime levels are very low.
