May thru October offers the best winds for windsurfing and kiteboarding, and it's summer so there are more girls visiting!

water is 78° to 80° F (26°C). inside is flat and calm outside the point area is choppy and at the reef there are waves.

only at low tide are there some obstacles close on the inside and the exposed reef on the outside

can't ride before 11 AM because of the fishermen

Kite Beach on Maui is super for kiteboarding...consistent winds and lots of good schools for instruction

best lauch site has a point with riders launching one at a time. rigging is under big trees and out of the wind and then you take kite to the point with clean winds for launching.
