Lots of accomodations available. Peak season is June 15-Aug 15 All other times are very reasonable. ($30-250 per nite) Holidays are higher rates. Spring break is not as bad as everyone says. Only two crazy weeks each year when the texas schools invade the island. March is a great wind month.

Locals are super friendly, Texas style. South Padre Island Kiteboarding has a crew of experienced staff and instructors. lessons at SPI Kiteboarding are excellent, not the cheapest, but the quality and service was above the mark.
South Padre Island Kiteboarding is located right on padre blvd, between verna jean and georgia ruth streets. They operate their lessons exclusively out of the North Flats and have all the latest gear from the top brands. Definately the best riders on the island.
North flats are wide open sand flats. Membership required for a nominal fee. You can purchase it at South Padre Island Kiteboarding.
