Mändjala with its beautiful beach is one of the most loved resting places in Saaremaa and entire Estonia. Järve dunes are stretched on a nearly 7 km long sand beach, where next to the regular pine trees are also dune pines AKA wind pines; the continuous sea breezes have had such effect that the stem of the unusual tree has been pressed close to the ground, branches become lop-sides, the tree crown irregular and wide.
