Suitable conditions:
Kiteboarding requires a constant and frequent onshore wind, in St Kilda, this is a South-East to South-West wind, which occurs naturally all year round, our hottest months of the year are November to April. In addition to an onshore wind, Kiteboarding requires an 8 to 25 Knot wind of which, due to St Kilda’s unusual climate makes this end of Port Philip bay one of the most ideal Kiteboarding locations in Australia.
Why St Kilda
St Kilda is an extremely popular beach destination and the section of the beach in this proposal is exceptionally wide with shallow water making it the safest Kiteboarding location in Victoria. The combination of climate, beach conditions and tourist attraction is seeing St Kilda become a Mecca for Kiteboarders from around the world.

Why St Kilda Kiteboarding
St Kilda Kiteboarding is run by Nic from the Australian Kiteboarding Instructors Association (AKIA). This organization is all about KEEPING IT SAFE for beach and water uses alike, our strict training programs are setting the standards across Australia.
In the summer of 2005 we helped many people achieve there dream of becoming fitter, healthier and to have more fun, we helped children and there parents, community groups, travelers, students, locals, schools all to fly kites safely. We are part of the community and try to help in any way we can and we love what we do!
We run 365 days but the warm weather is from November to April
On no wind days we train behind a ski boat to help master your board skills.
We offer downwinders which we follow with the boat. We also teach schools and corporate groups.
