Terminator Kiteboarding Club has been designed primarily for beginning kiteboarders with no kite/wake/sail/snowboard experience. Due to the consistently prevailing western (direct onshore) winds in the Santa Monica Bay, initial lessons surround wind-driven vessel theory and kite control. On water lessons occur in the Long Beach area once "blind" kite control has been attained.

Downwinders are impractical in the L.A. area due to swimming beach and cliff dominance. Serious learning kiteboarders are encouraged to travel to shallow-water learning areas for post-body drag lessons (i.e., Cape Hatteras, NC is ideal)
