GWA, the first Greek Wakeboard and Kite Surf Association, was founded in 2001 in order to promote and develop these two extreme water sports in Greece. GWA is a non-profit organization that already counts more than 300 members.
Furthermore, through its partnership with IKO, the International Kiteboarding Organization, GWA ensures and promotes the standards for safe teaching practices, through the development of approved schools and Instructor Training Courses held each summer. Through this, GWA has qualified instructors ready to train and teach students in kiteboarding.
The best time to kite in Greece is with the meltem winds in July and August.
Advance lessons are proposed, as kiteboarding clinics for advanced riders in different destinations, for freestyle tricks and wave riding.
